QUOTES & SURVEYS
Practical Protection for Your Park Home
A storm canopy is, quite simply, one of the most sensible additions you can make to a park home. It extends a tiled roof structure outward from the wall above your front door, creating an overhang that deflects rain and shields the entrance below.
This matters more on a park home than on a brick-built house, actually. Park home doors and frames sit exposed to weather with precious little natural overhang from the roofline. Over time—and we’re talking years rather than months—direct rain and UV exposure degrade door seals, discolour panels, and accelerate wear on locking mechanisms and hinges. A canopy significantly cuts down this exposure, extending the working life of your door and its components.
There’s a secondary benefit that most people overlook: shading. In summer months, direct sunlight on a south-facing entrance raises the temperature of the door panel considerably. uPVC expands and contracts with temperature, and sustained heat speeds up the degradation of rubber seals and glazing compounds. A canopy that shades the door during the hottest part of the day reduces this thermal stress.
“The canopy has made such a difference to the front of the house. No more standing in the rain fumbling for keys, and the front door is staying in much better condition now it’s sheltered. Neat, tidy job—fitted in a morning.”

Built to Last, Designed to Match
Our storm canopies are purpose-built for park homes using the same materials and construction principles that underpin our roofing and fascia work.
Metrotile Lightweight Tiles
Stone-chip coated, galvanised steel tiles—the same ones used in full park home roof replacements. Lightweight, weatherproof, and available in a range of colours to match your existing roof or cladding. They carry long manufacturer guarantees and require no maintenance beyond the occasional clear of debris.
uPVC Framework & Fascias
The frame, soffit, and fascia boards are all maintenance-free uPVC, colour-matched to your home’s existing trim. They won’t rot, warp, peel, or require painting—ever. The entire assembly is sealed against the wall using appropriate flashing to prevent water ingress at the junction between canopy and wall panel.
Decorative Gallow Brackets
These support the canopy from below and are available in a range of profiles and finishes, from simple and functional to more ornate designs. The brackets are both structural and aesthetic—they carry the canopy’s weight while contributing to the overall appearance of the entrance.
Why Purpose-Built Beats Off-the-Shelf
Proper Weather Protection
Generic polycarbonate canopies lack the projection to provide meaningful shelter. A purpose-built canopy is a structural extension of the roofline—tiled to match, sealed against the wall, and built to last.
Engineered for Wind Loads
Park homes sit in typically open, exposed settings. Our canopies are engineered to cope with the wind loads that off-the-shelf solutions simply aren’t designed for.
Seamless Integration
It looks like part of the home because it’s designed as part of the home. Tiled to match your existing roof, with fascias colour-matched to your trim.
Built to Last Decades
A polycarbonate canopy yellows, flexes, and eventually cracks. A Metrotile canopy on a uPVC frame will look the same in fifteen years as it does on the day it’s installed.
Family-Run Excellence Since 2008
Urban Stone Developments has been designing and installing storm canopies for park homes across London, Berkshire, Essex, Kent, Surrey and Hertfordshire since 2008. We’re a family-run team, and we treat your home as we’d treat our own.
Every canopy we fit is made to measure—there’s no such thing as a standard park home entrance, so there’s no such thing as a standard canopy in our workshop. We survey your home, discuss your preferences, and design something that works both practically and aesthetically.
Our approach is straightforward: honest pricing, quality materials, and workmanship we’re happy to put our name to. We’ve built our reputation on doing the job right first time, and on being the sort of company people recommend to their neighbours.

Tailored to Your Home
Storm canopies aren’t one-size-fits-all. We design each canopy to suit the specific park home, taking into account the door position, wall height, existing roofline pitch, and your preferences.
Key design variables include the canopy’s projection (how far it extends from the wall), its width (whether it covers just the door or extends across a wider section of the frontage), the tile colour, the fascia colour, and the bracket style.
Some homeowners prefer a compact canopy that covers the immediate door area. Others opt for a wider structure that shelters an adjacent window or provides a more generous covered space. We can also design canopies for side entrances and rear doors.
All canopy designs comply with BS3632 regulations for park home construction.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need planning permission for a storm canopy?
Planning permission isn’t normally required for a storm canopy on a park home. However, your park’s site licence conditions may include requirements around external alterations, so you should seek written approval from your site owner before work begins. We can advise on this during the initial consultation, and in our experience, approval for canopies is rarely withheld.
How long does installation take?
Storm canopy installation is typically a single-day job. Our team arrives with all components pre-prepared, assembles and fits the canopy on site, and completes the work within the day. There’s minimal disruption—no scaffolding is typically required, and the work is external, so you have full use of your home throughout.
What colours and styles are available?
Metrotile lightweight tiles are available in a range of colours to match or complement your existing roof. The uPVC framework and fascias can be colour-matched to your home’s existing trim. Decorative gallow brackets come in various profiles and finishes, from simple and functional to more ornate designs. We’ll discuss all options during your survey.
Can I combine a canopy with other work?
Absolutely. If you’re considering other improvements—new fascias and soffits, a replacement door, or roofline work—it often makes sense to include a storm canopy at the same time. The materials overlap, the team is already on site, and the finished result is more cohesive when everything is done together. Equally, a canopy works well as a standalone project.
What guarantees do you offer?
All canopies carry manufacturer guarantees on the Metrotile tiles and uPVC components. We also provide our own workmanship guarantee on the installation. Full details are included in your written quotation.

“We had a canopy fitted at the same time as new fascias. The team matched everything perfectly and it looks like it was always part of the home. Very pleased.”
